A Fairytale Wedding at Trump Turnberry: Designing Laura & Scott’s Dream Day
Some love stories are written in the stars, while others begin in the most unexpected places—like a chance meeting in the ladies’ room! While celebrating my cousin’s wedding, I bumped into a lovely lady, Laura. We instantly clicked, chatting away as if we had known each other for years. Before parting ways, we exchanged numbers. A few days later, I received a call that would set the stage for something truly magical—Laura had just gotten engaged and wanted me to design her dream wedding. I was beyond thrilled to be a part of such a special moment in her life.
A Vision of Elegance at Trump Turnberry
From our very first conversation, Laura had a clear vision: she wanted something ultra-elegant, timeless, and completely white. As we began designing her wedding decor for the breathtaking ballroom at Trump Turnberry, we knew it had to be magical, romantic, and opulent—a true reflection of the couple’s love story.
Flowers were especially important to Laura. Since she first met Scott, he had surprised her with a beautiful floral arrangement every week. This sentimental detail became our inspiration—we knew flowers would play a major role in creating a breathtaking setting.
A Unique Ceremony in the Heart of the Ballroom
Wanting to create something truly one-of-a-kind, I suggested an unexpected layout for the ceremony. Instead of the traditional setup, we placed the ceremony right in the center of the ballroom, a concept never done before at Turnberry. Guests were seated all around Laura and Scott, making them feel completely immersed in the celebration, surrounded by love from every angle.
The space was transformed with lush floral installations, including cascading hydrangeas from the ceiling and grand urns overflowing with white blooms lining the bespoke aisle. To add a sense of luxury and romance, we incorporated crystal elements, featuring 30 crystal candleholders and a stunning display of floating candles that created the most enchanting glow.
Laura and Scott exchanged vows atop a circular podium in the center of the room, with trailing hydrangeas suspended above them—a picture-perfect moment filled with emotion and beauty.
A Grand Transformation for the Evening Reception
After the ceremony, the ballroom underwent a dramatic flip to reveal an entirely new setting for the evening reception. The transformation was breathtaking—an intimate, candlelit atmosphere with layers of florals, luxury decor, and elegant details.
The couple had booked an incredible band from London, so we designed a spectacular floral stage display to create a stunning backdrop. The top table faced the band, with two lavish floral arrangements in front, featuring roses, hydrangeas, and orchids, all surrounded by an abundance of flickering candles for a warm, romantic ambiance.
Each place setting was carefully curated with elegant charger plates and personalized menus for each guest, ensuring that every detail felt bespoke and luxurious.
A Night to Remember
From the emotional ceremony to the unforgettable reception, Laura and Scott’s wedding was nothing short of a fairytale brought to life. Every moment was infused with beauty, romance, and luxury, creating a celebration that reflected their love story in the most spectacular way.
Designing this wedding was an absolute dream, and being part of such a magical day was an honor. It all started with a simple conversation in the most unexpected place, proving that sometimes, fate has a beautiful way of bringing people together.
